By Nancy Lytle,MyNewsOK Contributor Heavy bomber crewmen in World War II survived an average 16 bombing missions. Jack Myers, author of "Shot at And Missed: Recollections of a World War II Bombardier," survived 35 missions before being honorably discharged in 1945.
Myers will relate his experiences as a B-17 bombardier at 2 p.m. Saturday at Belle Isle Library, 5501 N Villa Ave. The author, who lives in Arcadia, was stationed in an air base in just inside the spur Italy.
