EDMOND — The Samuel King Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Edmond Historical Society and Edmond Genealogical Society are sponsoring a program called Honoring the WWII Generation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today at the Edmond Historical Society Museum and Library, 431 S Boulevard.
Rodger Harris, Oklahoma Historical Society oral historian, will provide tips and techniques on how people should interview World War II veterans and citizens for community projects or family history. The presentation will include the CD-ROM, "Celebrating Oklahoma's Centennial with Oral History Projects," an interview of a World War II veteran and handouts.
The Oklahoma Historical Society Oral History WWII Project needs interviews from Oklahomans who served in World War II to be preserved at the Oklahoma History Center.
A copy of each interview will be sent to the National Archives.
The National Archives Oral History Project is accepting interviews from World War II veterans and citizens from anywhere in the United States.
The training session is open to the public. For more information, call Pat McFall 844-8824.
